The rescue crew were onsite within an hour of the battle ending. They would have been there earlier if the fight hadn’t taken place primarily in the air, ruling out helicopter transportation.
Corporal Whittaker found the first sign of the combatants; the hero’s red gloved fist jutting out of the rubble.
“Found him Sir!” he called out through his headset communicator.
“Excellent Corporal,” Commander Blue said. “Dead or alive?”
The hand twitched and Whittaker heard a moan from under the pile of masonary.
“Alive,” he replied.
He placed the pulsing red device on the rubble.
“Executing termination protocols. Goodbye Sir.”
